Hi, my name is Viviana Arturo (Viv for short), founder of Alma Body Mind Therapy. I migrated stateside as a child, I’m the daughter of South American immigrants, Tia/Auntie to many, and you can find me in nature, often. When I’m not exploring the outdoors I spend quality time with loved ones including my doggo Neeko, trying new recipes, checking out meditation retreats, and listening for song birds. All parts of me create a sense of curiosity and openness in the therapeutic space.
I’ve worked as a psychotherapist for over 8 years, working with individuals and families in Massachusetts and now in New York. I believe in a person’s ability to restore their sense of self through insight, honesty, empowerment, and the desire to live as their authentic selves.
Bienvenidos! Welcome!
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always been interested and curious about relationships and the human experience. My interest in the mental health field grew when I experienced more hardship than I could manage and was introduced to a psychotherapist. Working with a skilled therapist enabled me to gain insight into my experience of hardships; it provided me with a safe space to exist in my range of emotions and find resolve. This paved the way for an inextinguishable thirst for wellness, healing, and compassion.
